How does trust influence citizen action?
Whether or not citizens trust in their government or civil society organisations can affect if and how they engage with them. Understanding the levels of trust amongst a project’s target group is therefore important when projects seek to mobilise citizens. Do citizens trust their local government? Do they trust local CSOs more? What about international NGOs such as Oxfam? How does their level of trust influence the actions they take? Our new paper discusses these issues and provides recommendations for projects using data on trust from nearly 10,000 citizens interviewed as part of the Strategic Partnership programme.
