bigger outreach
Since the foundation of Oxfam in 1994 we have been aligning our work. We join forces and conduct joint campaigns. Our outreach and powers to act have increased as a result. Together we support about 100 million people in 100 countries.
serious partner
Governments, international institutions and multinationals take Oxfam's research reports very seriously. Be they about the climate (Climate shame: get back to the table) or reconciliation (Rescuing the peace in Southern Sudan), we are considered an important partner to talk with.
effective campaigns
The Oxfams campaign together under the banner of Oxfam. We move together internationally. In our own countries each to his own. Our ‘Control Arms’ campaign has led to an international ban of cluster munitions. The Netherlands too signed the treaty, at the urging of among others Oxfam Novib.
new Oxfams
Emerging countries like India and Mexico can stand on their own feet better and better. That is why Oxfams were also set up over there. They support projects, raise funds and campaign in their own countries. For example, Oxfam India, founded in 2008, is now financing the projects of partners previously supported by Oxfam Novib. A nice practical example of ‘do-it-yourself’.
