business Plan
Every four or five years we write a Business Plan. In the Five-Year Plan 2011-2015 you can read that we will be working in fewer countries, and mostly in poor and fragile states.

goals, approach and resources
The Business Plan is the basis for our approach to poverty and injustice. We describe what we want to achieve, how we are going to do that and with what income and spending.
fragile states
New in the Business Plan: from 2011 we’ll be working in only 34 countries, half the number we’re working in today. We’ll be phasing out our activities in Latin America. We’ll be focusing on poor and fragile states where democracy has developed little. Think of Somalia, Burma, Afghanistan, DR Congo, Yemen or Sudan.
subsidy proposal
The Business Plan is part of our subsidy proposal to the Ministry of Development Co-operation. We’re submitting one with others for the first time, under the name of IMPACT. This alliance is made up of Oxfam Novib, Butterfly Works, SOMO, 1%CLUB and HIRDA. The last one is an organisation of Somalis living in the Netherlands. Fairfood International is a candidate member.
As IMPACT we have requested 106 million euro per year. The amount we’ll be receiving has yet to be announced.
